TUNG-SOL 6L6GC STR Platinum, matched quartet. Reissue.

The 6L6GC-STR maintains all the vintage character of the Tung Sol 5881 but with a higher power and maximum plate tension. This tube is manufactured under the specifications of the 60 ′ Tung-Sol. The maximum power supported by this tube is 30W and the plate voltage is 500V, so it can be used in any current amplifier regardless of its specifications.

This tube gets the best clarity and cleanliness with the bias set around 50% and 60%. In this range we find a warm and full sound, ideal for the JCM900. By raising the bias above this range this tube becomes more "grumpy" in the Fender Tweed style. Depending on the amplifier and the sound you are looking for, we recommend experimenting with the bias ranges.
