The LCD I2C Adapter based on the PCF8574 chip which is an I2C port expander. The adapter can be connected through cables or directly thanks to its connection pins. Ideal for ambitious projects in which the number of pins for the LCD is reduced, so by using the I2C Adapter we will only need two pins (SDA and SCL) to be able to control the LCD, whether 16X1, 16X2, 20X4, it also has with an adjustment potentiometer that regulates the contrast of the screen and an “enable” jumper for the backlight. With this module, if you already have I2C devices in your project, it will not take up more connection pins, since you can put it on the same bus without having to spend more resources, since it has three addressing pins (A0, A1 and A2), you can have up to 8 adapters on the same bus without collision problems between them.
